Web Development

This site is hosted on google console. It is running as a Virtual computer running a web server. The virtual computer is called a virtual machine or VM. The VM can be assigned an external IP address. This site uses Google’s Network service called cloud DNS. Cloud DNS is a high-performance, resilient, global Domain Name System (DNS) service that publishes your domain names to the global DNS in a cost-effective way.

LAMP STACK

This site is running on a service called the Compute Engine. It is running a LAMP stack.  LAMP is an acronym, and these stacks typically consist of the Linux operating system, the Apache HTTP Server, the MySQL relational database management system, and the PHP programming language. This site is running WordPress 5.6 | PHP 7.4.13 | Apache/2.4.41 (Ubuntu) | MySQL 8.0.22-0ubuntu0.20.04.3.

Connect with SSH

The advantage of using this service to host a website is the ability to have access to the server settings and configurations. The server is accessed via ssh where you can execute Linux commands over ssh. SSH or Secure Shell is a cryptographic network protocol for operating network services securely over an unsecured network.

If you are using wordpress, this is a great tool. You can install WP-CLI to make wordpress development much more efficient. WP-CLI is the command-line interface for WordPress. You can update plugins, configure multisite installations and much more, without using a web browser.

WEBMIN

This site is running on a Linux virtual machine. A very helpful tool is WEBMIN. Webmin is a web-based interface for system administration for Unix. Using any modern web browser, you can setup user accounts, Apache, DNS, file sharing and much more. Webmin removes the need to manually edit Unix configuration files like /etc/passwd, and lets you manage a system from the console or remotely.

PHP MYADMIN

Another helpful tool is PHP MYADMIN. phpMyAdmin is a free software tool written in PHP, intended to handle the administration of MySQL over the Web.
